Areas of Expertise

Premion's areas of expertise include:

• External beam treatment of all common cancers but particularly breast, lung, prostate and brain tumours.
  
• Protocols of combined Chemo-Radiotherapy in conjunction with a patient's Medical Oncologist or Haematologist.
  
• Use of 3D conformal therapy approaches and IMRT with 120 multileaf collimator to minimise the impact on other tissue.
  
• Stereotactic Radiosurgery, in cooperation with Neurosurgeons and diagnostic imaging groups, to target small brain tumours, acoustic neuroma, ependymoma, and other cranial nerve and spinal diseases.  Premion is the only provider of this service in Queensland.
  
• Low Dose Rate or "free seed' Brachytherapy implants for prostate cancers.
  
• High Dose Rate Brachytherapy to treat prostate, lung, endometrial, cervical, sarcoma and oesophageal cancers.
